French yellow stoneware mortar with pestle

Resembling iron, but in fact made from yellow, slip-glazed stoneware, the mortar features a small pouring spout and is complemented by a hand-turned (and well used) wooden pestle. An unusual piece that will add character to any kitchen shelf or worktop; 16cm diam. x 7.5cm high. Age wear; the glaze with some losses at the extremities
