Vintage Japanese mingei mask, style 4

Made with traditional Japanese paper maché (comprising washi paper, seaweed starch and ground seashell shaped over a wooden mould) these adorable, mid-1900s folk art relics will bring a touch of comical drama to any wall! The masks are traditionally worn during harvest festivals; the eyes pierced prior to wearing. 18 x 13 x 3.5cm. Age wear; some losses to edges. Each threaded with ribbon, ready to hang!
